Your Background

  • Student of a technical field related to automation and/or information technology (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics)
  • Basic knowledge of a programming language (C#, C++, C, Python, etc.) advantageous
  • Good command of German and/or English language
  • Valid work permit for Switzerland

Our Internship Offer

  • Internship duration 3 to 6 months, optionally up to 12 months
  • Workload: 80 – 100 %
  • Place of work: St. Gallen, depending on the internship there is also the possibility of international travel to customers in Europe/Asia/USA

Possible Internship Topics

Embedded Systems

  • Develop an algorithm to detect mechanical shock patterns
  • Develop an algorithm to detect different activities of a wearable device
  • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication security analysis and improvement
  • Read 2D barcodes with image processing using a given low power camera
  • Implement automated detection of 1D barcodes with image processing using a given camera

Projects and Operations

  • Using machine learning, evaluate and implement a validation solution for position detection
  • Study and implement an improved analysis method of 2D localization data gathered during testing

Software Engineering

  • Integrate a multi-language functionality in a frontend solution
  • Integrate a face recognition functionality in a frontend solution
  • Conceptualise and implement a web service showing a virtual device display with angular or Blazor
  • Improve currently existing CI/CD pipeline
  • Research and implement a solution to transfer log files and other data securely and efficiently
  • Research and implement a solution to validate localization algorithms using existing tools or develop new tools
  • Convert CAD program exports to application-specific formats (e.g. .dwg to .svg)

Systems Engineering

  • Ultra-wideband (UWB) development and testing for near real-time 2D localization in complex fab environments
